PVDC coated film is a different base film (PET/BOPP/BOPA) coated in one layer or multilayer PVDC( Polyvinylidene chloride), to get the high barrier property. It has barrier performance that can reduce the big amount of oxygen transmission, this makes PVDC ideal for household wrap and food, medical, and pharmaceutical packaging to extend shelf life. PVDC also is highly resistant to many chemicals including grease and oil and has good performance in aroma retention, freshness retention, oil resistance, etc. And also has good printing and composite performance, It can have double-sided heat sealing performance (heat sealing strength ≥0.8N/15mm) as required.
PVDC( Polyvinylidene chloride) is a clear and flexible synthetic thermoplastic produced by the polymerization of vinylidene chloride, a transparency packaging material with good barrier properties, It is optically clear with a high degree of gloss and has outstanding oxygen and moisture barrier properties comparable to metalized films.
PVDC has had a long history of its usage, since the industrialized production of DOW Chemical in the United States in the 1930s, PVDC has become synonymous with high barrier, and the packaging industry even calls it the “queen” of high barrier materials.
